Most of the time,replica watches, when people judge a timepiece is excellent or not by their funcions and designs. The P.999 has the ability to store nearly 60 hour power reserve. Even though it can not reach three days, it is already 50% more than the Unitas that used in the hand-wound low range Panerai watches. The construction is common and traditional but still it can be considered as an evolution like all the contemporary movements nowadays with fashionable look. I am so impressed by its polished appearance that I can wait to see the final model at the upcoming SIHH 2010.
Out of question, P.999 has glamous appearance. It is fine finished while being fashionable and simple. And I am happy to see that the Panerai Radiomir (PAM00336) has the honor to first hold this movement. However, the return to resized 42mm rose gold case is not innotative. As far as I know, previous gold Radiomir watches did not sell because of the ultra-high price tag. I recommend you to wait for a steel Panerai with the P.999 if you are not interested in gold watches.
I also think that is if the P.999 will totally replace the Unitas movements at Panerai. However, if P.999 is limited produced and only 500 pieces that crated,ladies watches, the would-be limited supply is utterly impossible to replace all Unitas in a short period, personally, I reckon that P.999 has to wait quite a long time to stands out proudly and successfully. No matter what, if you are a fan of excellent timepieces, if you are interested in this watch which present the traditional design in a perfect way, and if you want to own one to enrich your watch collections, you need to hurry up to try your best to get one.
